Scales and Audition Video Information

Instruments - Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass

Minimum of 1 year playing experience up to advance players

Location - J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts Lindenwood University, 2300 West Clay St. St. Charles 63301

Audition Video (for seating placement).  Due by July 4th . Please send in a 2-3 minute video of your solo and one scale from the list below. This is optional but it will help the conductors seat students faster on the first day of camp if they can hear your student play ahead of time.

What to expect at the workshop

Large ensemble playing and small ensemble playing groupings by ability
Each level of experience has sessions tailored just to their needs


Session Topics:

Finding a Balance: Correcting Body Posture to Improve Playing

Hearing in Colors: Developing Tone Colors and Textures

Shifting Made Easy

Creating Flexability in Vibrato

Enrichment choices include (you choose two for the week):

Composition using Sibelius

All State Prep

Music With a Cartoon- Sorcerers Apprentice or Bugs Bunny at the Symphony

New this year- Private lessons with select workshop teachers

Private lessons wll be available from 8am-9am Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Lessons are 20minutes each costing $20.00.

Workshop Session Times:
• 9:00am-3:00pm everyday
• 45 minute lunch break everyday
• Students will be required to bring a sack lunch Monday-Thursday
• Friday lunch provided!
• Friday demonstration concert at 2PM

Tuition:
$205 per student (by due date) includes T-shirt

$215 per student (after due date) includes T-shirt
